Modernisation of AVE trains - Spain

The Director of High Speed for Renfe presented this 40
million euro project to the minister. It comprises the total
remodelling of the interior of the trains, including
cafeteria, all entertainment facilities (video, screens,
internet, information service etc), interior fittings, vertical
and horizontal luggage compartments as well as adaptations for
disabled people.

The renovation project has been developed in line with the
new standards set by Renfe for materials and quality matching
their new fleet of high speed trains S-102, S-103 and S-100,
which will provide passengers with increased comfort. The
exterior design will be modelled on Renfe's new corporate
design.

The first train will be delivered at the end of this year,
and the last train is expected halfway through 2008.
