ALSTOM has won a contract by TRUenergy Ltd, subsidiary of CLP, to
supply a turnkey 400MW gas-fired combined cycle power plant in Australia
and a 12-year long-term service agreement for the gas turbine
equipment.

The two contracts are worth approximately 250M euros.  ALSTOM will design, supply, install and commission the entire power plant consisting of a GT26 gas turbine, a 160MW steam turbine, condenser, heat recovery steam generator, step-up transformer, plant control systems, civil works and balance of plant. The project is located at Lake Illawara, south of Sydney in New South Wales and is expected to begin commercial operation in Autumn of 2008. The award of this project confirms ALSTOMs leading position as the preferred EPC contractor and plant integration specialist to the Australian energy market and follows two similar EPC contracts awarded to ALSTOM in 2005 for the 450MW Braemar Power Project in Queensland and the 310MW Kwinana Power Project in Western Australia.  Philippe Joubert, President of ALSTOMs Power Turbo-Systems/Power Environment Sector, said: Our ability to provide integrated power plant solutions, coupled with our world-class GT26 technology and our strong presence in Australia, was instrumental in our winning this contract. Should you have any media inquiries about this press release, do not hesitate to contact our team.
